Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Renew ("Renew," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Renew mobile application and related services (the "Service").

Renew is a science-backed breakup recovery application operated by an independent developer. Because the Service is designed to support people through an emotionally difficult experience, some of the information you share with us is sensitive. We take that responsibility seriously, and this policy describes the protections we apply.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

The Service is operated by Renew, an independent application. For any privacy question or request, you can contact us at hi.team@finamoney.co.

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, Renew acts as the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties that support the Service.

2.1 Information You Provide
• Account information: email and authentication identifiers (Apple/Google sign-in IDs).
• Onboarding and intake responses: relationship status, contact approach, goals, free-text reflections.
• Check-in and exercise content: journaling text, reflections, feelings, personal circumstances.
• Support and communications: messages you send us.

Some of this is sensitive personal information about your mental or emotional health (see Section 4).

2.2 Information Collected Automatically
• Device and technical data (type, OS, app version, language).
• Usage and analytics data via our analytics provider.
• Approximate country-level location for crisis resources. No GPS.
• Push notification tokens, if enabled.

2.3 Subscription and Payment Information
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store full payment card details. We receive subscription status through our subscription provider.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and personalize the Service.
  • Generate AI prompts, plans, and reflections.
  • Remember context across sessions.
  • Send reminders and notifications you enable.
  • Display local crisis resources.
  • Process subscriptions and billing.
  • Understand usage and improve the Service.
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Sensitive Personal Information and Health-Related Data

Renew is a self-help tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, or crisis care (see Section 14).

The content you enter may reveal information about your mental or emotional health. Under laws such as the GDPR this is a special category of personal data. Where we rely on your consent, you provide it by entering the content, and you can withdraw consent any time by deleting the content or your account (see Section 10).

We do not permit our AI providers to use your content to train their general-purpose models. We do not sell this information.

5. Artificial Intelligence and Your Content

Parts of the Service use AI to generate personalized prompts, plans, summaries, and reflections. The text and context you provide may be sent to our AI processing and memory providers to generate responses and retain relevant context.

Providers process your content under agreements that restrict use to delivering the service. AI-generated content can be inaccurate and should not be relied on as professional advice.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information.

6.2 App Stores
Apple App Store and Google Play process purchases under their own policies.

6.3 Legal and Safety
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.

6.4 Business Transfers
If the Service is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale, your information may be transferred.

7. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA and UK Users)

  • Contract — to provide the Service.
  • Consent — for sensitive health-related content and optional features.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure and improve the Service.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or needed to provide the Service. After deletion, we delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period, except where required to retain it by law.

9. Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Your Rights and Choices

You may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to processing, port your data, and withdraw consent.

Account and data deletion. Tap your avatar, scroll to Account, and select Delete Account, or email hi.team@finamoney.co.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any right, contact hi.team@finamoney.co. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. International Data Transfers

We and our providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended only for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact hi.team@finamoney.co if you believe a minor has provided us data.

13. Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we send reminders to support your use of the Service. You can disable them in your device settings.

14. Not Medical Advice and Crisis Support

Renew provides self-help and educational content. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric care. If you are in crisis or may be a danger to yourself or others, contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will update the "Last updated" date and notify you within the Service for material changes. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
